Date Night

We kicked off our beach week with a date night to the House of Blues to see Toad the Wet Sprocket.  It was the perfect start to our vacay – something Matt and I had been looking forward to for months.  The last couple months Matt’s been working tons of shifts – I think he had 11 night shifts in a row in the PICU at one point.  This concert had been a major “carrot” getting us through the end of winter here.

The HOB was a great venue (we did the upstairs seating, rather than standing room only downstairs) and TTWS put on an awesome show.  Hard to believe the first time I heard them was in 1991 when my Dad bought “Fear.”  20 years later, they still rock.  This is their most well-known song, Walk on the Ocean.  It was their encore.  (Fast forward to 1:00 minute, the first minute was just teaser.)

Music on a Monday

For some reason, my ears just keep saying "more, please" when I listen to this. I loved Something Corporate and I had no idea that the lead singer had left SC and was now Jack's Mannequin until my buddy Zac clued me in. Now I can't stop downloading them, much to the demise of my dwindling itunes balance. But this song delights me the most. Enjoy.

Confess: What are you listening to right this very moment?

Music on a Wednesday (The Oops Edition)

I know, I know. You have needs, and I have neglected you. Your ears thirst for music, and I left you parched. Fear not - I have not forgotten you.

Enjoy this audio deliciousness. I downloaded this as a free itunes song about 6 weeks ago and it's been stuck in my head ever since. They remind me a little bit of Postal Service, but a tad bit more ethereal. Maybe like Postal Service after a few glasses of vino.

(Nothing to look at, so put it on and go back to Facebook or Twitter or, as a last resort, work.)

Music on a Monday

I almost forgot it was Monday, it has been such a delicious non-Monday-like day. This is what's currently delighting my earbuds. I tried to find a good live performance, but no dice. So, this shall do. Happy Labor Day, ya'll.

Music on a Monday

I love this lady. She's joining a trio of new girlfriends I'm accumulating that includes Ingrid Michaelson & Regina Spektor. I'm going to have them all over for a slumber party and we're going to do Ouija board and eat graham crackers with frosting in between and prank call our crushes.

Lovely lyrics too.
